If you didn’t already know, Caitlin and Kara have completed their terms of service for AmeriCorps*VISTA. They spent this last year building and executing the Speakers’ Bureau here in the Volusia/Flagler county area.
Kara and Caitlin: THANK YOU for your service to this community and your passion for ending homelessness! I have BIG shoes to fill!
I’m Kari Woodman, I am the new VISTA serving at the Volusia/Flagler County Coalition for the Homeless. I am SO excited to be here and to continue the work Kara and Caitlin have begun.
I moved to Daytona Beach last week from Beaverton, Oregon. I love it here! SUNSHINE! I shadowed Caitlin and Kara last Monday and had the opportunity to see some of the organizations and meet some of the people I will be getting to know soon enough!
This week I will be settling and getting to know the community! Hopefully I’ll wrap my head around that fact that the ocean is to the EAST not the WEST and be able to get my way around town without being completely confused!
I will keep you all posted about the SPEAKERS’ BUREAU and my adventures in Florida!
